Tobin Bridge

It appears to me, from driving the tobin bridge day to day, that the tobin bridge is need of serious repair work. Reading through the details of the history of the bridge, I found that one plate girder had to be repaired due to fissure cracks in the web back i beleive 8 to 10 yrs ago. The most probable cause of fissure cracks is fatiague. This bridge is well over 50 yrs old and if one plate girder exihibited fatiague related damage, how many other sections are to follow with the same problem. It appears that many of the plate girders particularly near the column connections are severely pitted. Has there been anything done to reinforce these girders with this condition? Have any of the bolts and rivets ever been replaced? Why isn't there a concern over this aging dinosuar as was the case for the central artery. The tobin bridge was builteven before the central artery.
