If he has only just recieved his visa and then left your home, then you are under obligation to inform the authorities, ie, border agency, giving them all the details like national insurance number, passport number and any other information that relates to him,, and he will be removed from the country. In the wife/spouse visa application it tells you that if they are not with you after 2yrs they can't apply for indefinate leave to remain, also, you must inform the authorities if he leaves you within that 2yrs,, Hope this helps,, belive me,, i've gone through all this stuff.
