Is there anyone out there that favors shooting this size cartridge/rifle in a Sharps rifle? I purchased a very early model of a Shiloh C. Sharps rifle that came with a chamber for the paper patch cartridge. I have been reloading with nonpaper patch type bullets (RCBS 475gr) with fair success even extending the bullet slightly to get nearer to the lands. Tried the 510+gr but can not tolerate the recoil. Since I have very limited funds is there anything I can do with this 2 1/2" cartridge and 475 gr bullet to improve its accuracy? I am willing to purchase a good used paper patch mould or swedging dies.
