Is the esophagus the "throat" in terms of the interior portion that food is swallowed using? Talking with my kids after they watched me swallow 9 vitamins at the same time, and my wife and I have a bet as to the size of the human throat. Her guess is 1.75 inches in diameter, my guess is 1.25 inches in diameter. Help? We have a 10 minute massage resting on the correct answer.
