Is the Apostolic Catholic of the old time from which the New Apostolic Church originated the same as the Roman Catholic? What were the practices that led the NAC to split from the Apostolic Catholic?

The New Apostolic Church came about because the Catholic
Apostolic only believed there should be 12 apostles. Thus
being the case the church would die off eventually, which it
did. The New Apostolic Church ordains new Apostles as seen
fit through the Chief APostle and the College Of Apostles.
