Types of Dynamic Network Diagram – L2 and L3 Q-maps
During the creation of a dynamic network diagram, the computer system needs to make a number of assumptions so that the process can be automated. The most important one is related to an L3 or L2 map.
An L3 map focuses on illustrating the L3 topology and related network design, such as routing, traffic filtering etc. An L2 map is focused on switch-level details and the VLAN related design. To create a new map, you need to first specify whether the type is L3 or L2.
