I was sixteen at the time of the 1976 Presidential race. I seem to recall a controversy over Ronald Reagan’s choice as a running mate, specifically, his having a nervous breakdown, and the press making quite a fuss over it.

I cannot remember if it was Richard Schweiker, or someone else. Any information, one way or the other would be appreciated.
