I have not read the bible and im not sure if the answer to my question is in there, but i am really curious as to why God doesnt reveal himself. Is it the fact he cant or he just wont for whatever reason ?
Surely if we all knew for certain there was a god the world would be a better place. Has he ever revealed himself in the past and what evidence is there of this ?
All replys will be greatly appreciated

First of all he did reveal himself. The eyewitnesses were those who wrote about him. You can read these eyewitness accounts as they portray God incarnate as Jesus Himself. The gospels display the very words of Jesus so will give you a better understanding of what God himself was revealing to the world. The most important thing to understand is that God became a human being and lived among us. If you believe that then you are on your way. Do you believe that? If you do then all you need is to ask him to come into your life and change you by making you his son. The bible says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is God and lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead then you will be saved! Now the method of salvation as portrayed in the bible says we must understand that Jesus died for the sins of the world. He died for your sins and so you must repent by turning from them to God asking him to forgive you and cleanse you from your sins. Then you must begin walking in faith and live your life following in the footsteps of the lord. This is done by reading the bible and attending a church that teaches the bible you will grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord. Is this not what you are seeking? There is more but for now you must take these initial steps before you can understand the rest.
Any questions?

I accept that Jesus is the son of God ,and that Jesus is Lord,
That he died for our sins ...That he is our Savior..
But why can you not see that God ..does reveal himself...In the nature that surrounds us..
All the bad things that are happening in the world today...are all predicted in the bible..by the lord.
But only you can fine the answer...in believing ,and reading the bible.

Thanks mike for the reply. I wasnt aware that god did incarnate jesus, my knowledge is very limited. Because of this i dont truly beleive but i want to.
Ive heard some of the stories from the bible, noahs ark moses, adam and eve and to be honest i dont really beleive in them, they sound really far fetched. But i truly admire people that do. As a christian yourself do you truly beleive in everything thats been wrote in the bible.
Or can you choose to beleive in certain storys and disbeleive others, would that make you less of a christan, how does it work??
For now im going to give reading the bible a shot, im leaning more to the living bible that was mentioned in another post. But can i ask you for advice on choosing a christian chuch there seem to be that many, is it just a personal prefrence?

When Eve bit the fruit of forbidden knowledge, she learned of evil then she applied it to herself and saw imperfection.

God created us to be perfect creatures. We changed that and became imperfect.

to find God you must give that up to Him. You must give Him your shame of imperfection and allow His Light to shine on your soul.

Once you do this, the evidence you seek will become clear. You will never again be faced with a problem you cannot handle. You will have no worries or fears. You will experience love for your fellow man. You will see the evil in the world yet you will not fear it or hate it. You will know God's strength and His glory and His love.
The tears you cry will be pure. The laughter in your belly will be as a child's and the world be a garden again.

there will be people who tell you what I say here is false. That it cannot be true. that it is impossible.
some of those who say this are simply lost. Some are evil. Either way, what they tell you is a falsehood, the Great Lie of Evil.

God IS.
All you have to do is CHOOSE HIM.

Good Luck
go in peace

Hello again,
My husband and I lived on the coast of Vancouver...
There we saw hungier, and pain,People that live behind closed gates ,because their afraid of whats beyond those gates.
They live in a crowd...of many...And somewhere in there is god .but most people just can't find him,
So one day my husband and my self packed up ,and moved to the interior
of British Columbia. Were in the middle of 2 towns 35 miles in either direction,We have about 4 hundred people in all living in our little town...we have clean air .2 creeks at either end of town..one school,
one real church ,and another that is held in the school.
And here one can feel God ..he is with you ,and here people help people,...Here one truly does gods work...Last year ,my husband and I had to go too town ,,,for something or else..anyway when we got home ...there was 4 large boxes sitting on our freeze in the porch...well we took them in and unpacked the contents...well there was meat and eggs..and can food...and to this day...we still haven't a clue where it came from ,and the stuff in cans that we couldn't use we passed on to nother person that needed to have something in there cupboard ..

So there is the spirit of god with in people, you just have to find it ...before you can understand it.

Believe me I feel the spirit,,and the presents of god...but I have a long ways to go and a lot more to learn before ,I can I truly understand it all.

But you can't learn this on your own...you need to share with people who have studied the word of god and applied to their lives.

Listen God did not incarnate Jesus. He incarnated himself. Not to mince words but it is important to understand that God himself became a human being. OK? This is what you probably meant to say. Anyway concerning you questions about different stories in the bible that seem far-fetched. Think about this. Is it easier to believe that God became a human being as compared to those other stories? Or is it easier to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead as compared to Noah's ark? If I think about it I find it is just as unbelievable to say that someone was raised from the dead. Now you may agree to this but whatever you believe about the bible believe one thing. Believe in Christ and his message. All the other stories are messages and as such were only meant to portray examples of how God was intending to bring about a final plan of salvation in the message of the Messiah. God's final story to mankind is that message as found in the person and work of Jesus Christ. It’s all there in the Gospels and expounded in more detail in the rest of the New Testament. I would recommend reading the Gospel of John. This was written to a non-Jewish audience and as such was meant to show the Gentiles that God loved them as much as the Hebrews.
Now about choosing a church. I think any mainline denomination would be a safe bet. Look for a teaching church. One that has Sunday school lessons. Keep in mind that spirituality is a practical walk. If its not practical its not spiritual.
I attend a Baptist church that is moderately fundamental and I myself am a conservative evangelical with a bend toward theological philosophy.
If you have any questions feel free to text me.
Mike
P.S. What is your name?

It is better to use your own words than a collection of works approved by Constantine. If many speak the same thing then nothing is said by anyone.Do I believe in what the Bible says about Jesus? Yes I do. However I see the truth in Jesus in today's world. At this very moment counteless deeds of kindness reflect his inspiration. Jesus is so much more than just two dimensional letters and that means much. much more than what you see in my presentation here for it is also two dimensional

Experience through the years has taught me that some people use Jesus as a tool for their own fears, anger and shortcomings and also for problems concerning their ual feelings

Hi Mike..
Thought it would be great to tell you ,that the Lord is truly amazing.
For many years I have wanted to start my own business.and though I prayed ...it was never the right time..
Well last Thursday my dream came true...A Christian couple ...good friend of our...delivered to me a hot dog cart..
and this came one of the most wonderful gifts that one can recieve,,,
I live in a small town in British Columbia...Canada...with lots of high way traffic going by...So as my husband can no longer do the job..that he has always done...it's my turn to take care of my family
This I praise the lord for...I get lots of fresh air...and get to do what I want ..and thats serve others..though not threw making money...but a little to those that are less fortunate then myself...
We are a community that takes time to help each other out in time of crisus ...in the big cities people are so afraid to talk to their neighbor..let alone help each other...in small towns and villages...people are more likely to rade their cupboard ...to feed their neighbor...and in the future...it will be the small country villages that will survive,,,while big cities...will crumble

I feel blessed...

Hey Amanda, I was glad to hear answer to prayer. My brother use to own a hot dog cart and he would move around the city during the day selling his fare. He finally gave up on it because the police in the city kept telling him to move to another location as they were trying to gingerly rid the city of food vendors. This may have been for various reasons as the local restaurants saw these carts as taking money from their pockets so to speak. I hope this does not happen to you. Anyway yes I believe god answers prayer and I celebrate this gift you have received. Jehovah-jireh!

You have received some good answers here, remember discovering your faith and enriching it is like anything else you must put the time and effort. The good news is the deeper you go the more help it becomes the stronger your faith becomes and you are not blown about by every passing wind. " For people of faith no explanation is necessary for those with out no explanation will suffice."

I have seen this repeated countless times before. If everybody says the same thing no one has said anything. The bible has had many changes throught history including the non canonical as well as the orthodox scriptures. All that I can say is that Jesus was a real person who has affected the whole world and he has left us with his legacy of love, compassion and forgiveness. The rest is mere rationalization from men and nothing more. Jesus can speak for himself. He should not be used to feed the ego's of self proclaimed "christians" nor should he be used as a vehicle for someone's animosity ,which is a direct contradiction of who Jesus was and does him a great disservice.

God does reveal himself in various ways to others. I have my 'fluky expiriences' and u have yours. Think of how God acts like how a parent lets go of there child 2 let them try and take there first steps. It seems for the child like he is letting go until down the road when the child finaly learned too walk.

Read it, first. Then ask the question.

The Old Testament did not show physical revelation to individuals unless the individual was deemed righteous by God. Only God can declare an individual righteous, and He does it through Grace and Mercy (not Justice).

God and mankind hadn't been reconciled until Jesus had fulfilled the death and resurrection. That's why there are few references to such occurrences.

The New Testament invites belief in Jesus' actions, in God's plan and messenger, and trust in His promise - these will let you see God when you transition to the spirit.

Our impatience to experience it is a short-coming man has, and can be interpreted as 'testing' God (which is never looked upon favorably by God).

Patience, trust, and study will get you there.

He already revealed Himself. First He proved Who He was by performing the miracles that he did, then He allowed Himself to be nailed to the cross to pay for the sins of humanity.

The story of the cross is God revealing Himself to humanity.

Thetruthseeker,

I encourage you to do as you've indicated - read the Bible. The different translations can make a difference in the meanings conveyed (as the act of translation can eliminate some nuances from the original language). The living Bible is a reasonable starting place, preventing older speech patterns from confusing the issues.

Remember that there is a lot of symbology, as well as parables (illustrative stories), which need to be researched. I recommend choosing an established church - one that bases its beliefs on the original Greek and Hebrew sources. Examples of such are Catholic or Lutheran congregations, whose associations with theological research span a number of centuries.

I find that the key to believing is to begin reasoning with a basis in Boolean logic - particularly, the AND logic table: In order for a conclusion to be true, both constituent suppositions must be true. If either (or both) suppositions are false, then the conclusion must be false. In this way, the only way for the Bible to be true is for all constituent claims to be true.

I'll be happy to discuss with you any questions you uncover in your study.

It depends. If you are a prophet, the Lord will reveal Himself to you in a vision, and speak to you in a dream. Read Numbers 12:6. Now, if you are not a prophet, you are going to content yourself with nature and the written Word.
However, if you are not prejudicial and believe the Biblical
prophets, Ezekiel says that, by means of Israel God reveals Himself in the sight of the nations. (Ezek. 20:41)
