As a forensic document examiner, how will you react if asked by a court sitting judge or jury to give an opinion on a different document presented to you in the court while you are in the witness box testifying in a case you have earlier examined.

The document I am now being presented with is different from the document I examined earlier?

I want to know why it is different and which one is authentic. Towards the authenticity I want to know why this particular version is authentic, or claims to be.

If authenticity of both versions is in question or if one cannot be proven authentic over another, then neither document is valid, IMHO

it wouldn't matter to me that one version or the other supports evidence given. Evidence given could be false, misleading or other wise incorrect. the fact that the document is questionable taints the evidence it supports. if it is evidence then it should be ignored.
