I would like to find any info/people that may have served with my father Charles Robert Anthony Mason srvce no:532578 in 16 sqdrn. Records show: 1939 he was in Heliopolis 18-3-39 then Helwan(a);back to Heliopolis 15-8-39. Then from Heliopolis to 31.a.s.p. on 25-8-39 then 103 m.u.(a)on 10-11-40; back to 31 a.s.p.then A.H.Q.Greece 15-11-40. Next H.Q.Palestine.31-5-41.then Haifa 31-5-41 and to STN Aqlb(a) no date. Then STN Haifa 1-2-42. Official 16 sqdrn records say the sqdrn was in France (1940), moved to England just before the fall of France and stayed in England. He was at Duxford in 1945-confirmed arrival 4/45. Also on his records DEP P.O.R 14-5-46. 5.P.D.C. 30-10-46.Japan movement: 7-11-46 confirm arrival 4-4-46 Miho 16-12-46. date of movement. He was in Malaya from the 3-7-51 to 20-1-54. Official records don't say 16 sqdrn was in western desert, which is strange, my fathers medals have the Africa star and G.S.M. W/clasp MALAYA.
