I want some clarification on NTLM.

I want to support NTLM for our application. following are my question regarding the NTLM.

1. is NTLM uses only window's credentials?
2. Can NTLM be used to authenticate the user who is maintained in another "LDAP" server. this LDAP is different from the windows LDAP?

3. My Machine is in a domain called "Domain1" and user belongs to this network are maintained in LDAP server called "LDAP1". I am developing a web application called "APP1" which stores its user details in LDAP server called "LDAP2" and the domain used for this application is say "Domain2". the "APP1" internally calls another application say "APP2", APP2 also uses the LDAP2 and domain "Domain2"

Now is it possible for me to use NTLM to authenticate a application user when he navigates to second application APP2 from APP1 ?
