I want 2 find out about 3rd battalion scots guards stationed in mallaca malaysia in 1966 because my dad clive dopson was stationed there and i was born there so if anyone can give me any information or maybe knew my dad i would be gratefull.

Hi I was in Malacca in between 1965 & 1967. I only remember 1 Battalion Scots Guards, but maybe 3 bn was there also. This webpage listed units who served at that time -British & Commonwealth units serving in Borneo Brunei and supporting operations 1962 - 1966

They list under Infantry Units:
1st Bn Scots Guards (with 9 Company, Irish Guards under command - 9 Company also included a platoon made up of Coldstream Guards). Arrived Terendak Malaya September 1964, returned to UK Edinburgh February 1967. The page is not currently being updated but you may be able to contact someone on it.
I remember they seemed to be tall men who carried dirks in their socks and often got into fights on saturday nights. My husband was in the Australian army so we did not actually know any Scots guards. I have some photos of funerals the band did of Australian soldiers who died in Vietnam.
