I think I've been scammed. I asked AAMCO twice to allow me time to think about the repairs they said my car needed. First time I was told, the transmission is already being lifte. Cost $1,285. Then I was told they needed to "fix the whole thing". Total cost: $2,489.50. I told him I needed time (the week-end) to think about it. It's a 2003 Chevy Cavalier. KBB value is less than the repair cost. The owner of AAMCO told me, his guys already started the work. I never saw or signed any estimate or signed off on an authorization to have the work done. If there anything I can do? The owners last comment was, I'll call you on Monday.
