I sent in a request to KFWB Radio for a free "Lohman & Barkley Lemonaid Stand" in the early 1960's. I waited and waited and it never did come. I was approximately ten years old, and I didn't get over it until I was almost in Hi School. Many years later I met him at a coffee shop when he was working with Ken Minyard at KABC and I told him about my disappointment forty years ago. I was surprised that he remembered the promotion. He looked at me straight in my eyes and apologied. I told him he couldn't apologize, it was Al Lohmsn's fault. We had lunch at the same table, talked about his career with Al Lohman and the others, he didn't say ANYTHING except to say he admired and respects everyone.
