I seek information about a crash in 1955/6 involving a Vampire from Sek Kong. The pilot was John C Shipman. He was flying one of a pair on a sortie from Sek Kong when his aircraft hit a mountain top in low cloud. I would like a date when this happened as I helped carry the body down the mountain, and I often think of the incident. Mike Walsh

Hi there. Your reply certainly came out of the blue! Still, most welcome. I'm 80 now, but still remember with affection my 20-odd years in the RAF, particularly my time in HK. Nice to know that Servicemen who died out there have their graves well kept. I remember thinking as I helped lift JS's body into the ambulance "How could a 6' tall chap end up on a stretcher only about 4' long. It will always stay with me. Anyhow, many thanks. theorganiste
