I recently read about the work of MI6 agent Frank Foley who during his time in passport control in the 1930s (based in Germany) was able to facilitate the escape of a large number of Jewish families. In the book I read (sorry, can't remember the author's name)Frank returned to Britain via Norway. The author refers to a book by called 'Sesame and Lillies' by Victorian polymath, John Ruskin. He claims that the Norwegian intelligence used this as a code book.
I am on the committee of the Ruskin Society in England. I would really like to know more about Ruskin's 'involvement', well atleast his book's. Can anybody throw more light on this please?
