I recently got two finches but they are not zebra finches, they are society finches. They have just homed into their new cage and have laid eggs. I have had finches when my kids were samll and I know they lay eggs all the time but How should I go about seeing if the eggs are fertile or not and throwing them out if they are not fertile? It seems mean to just take them from them. I am a total rookie here so any info on my finches would be appreciated.
