I read somewhere that naiads of certain Odonate (dragonfly) species spend about 80 years underwater, moulting several times over, before emerging as the airborne dragonfly. Now I cannot locate that article, but do remember it was written by an entomologist. Can anyone please help me finding the reference, and informing me of the name(s) of the species?
