I once heard a quote of Ravel's referring to the time he composed Le Tambeau de Couperin. He said something like,"I have found the forms, all I need to do is write the melodies." I'm a music teacher about to teach a unit on Ravel (listening to Rigadoun). Does anyone have the exact quote???
