I lived in St. Mihiel from 1951-55. Just lately, I started looking into my past and it's been an incredible journey putting the pieces together. Just today I saw the name "Toul Rosieres" and it was so familiar but I couldn't figure out why. After researching, I found it was an Air Force base. My stepfather was in the Air Force. We went to school at Sampigny but I couldn't remember where my stepfather went to work. I remembered my mother bought groceries in Verdun. I'm wondering how far Toul is from St. Mihiel. Seems like my parents called it "Tolley". Small pieces are coming back bit by bit...after all, it's been 55 years. My years in France were the best of my childhood. We lived among the French people, played with French friends and learned the language without trying.
