I have rescued a 3 year old Uro and he is under weight and very small. He hasn't been able to shed about 3 inches of his tail and it very thick. I can't remove it. Does anyone have a clue on how I can help him remove it?
Thanks

You can soak your uro in very warm water every day. Typically they should be soaked once a week, but when they are unable to shed and their tails get thickened soaking every day is necessary. About 5-7 minutes.

Afterwards, make sure it is placed in a very warm tempature, over 90 degrees if possible.

If your uro has raw skin underneath (if you've helped by pulling at the skin...) then you may may to add a half teaspoon of betadine solution to the water. This helps kill any bacteria on your uro. Make sure you keep its face out of the water. You can elevate it.s head on several papertowels stacked on top of eachother. Good luck!
