I have just witnessed a horntail lay its eggs in the railway sleepers in my garden. It used several sites. It seemed very dopey after and I wanted to know is this the end of its lifecycle. Also how much potential damage will the larvae cause to the wood in the garden? It holds up a very heavy bank?
