I have just received a telephone call that Michael Pataki has passed on to his next life, seeking a new journey. I was his girlfriend in 1979 and 1980 and wanted to give my condolences to any of his remaining family and close friends. I hope all those close to him remember only the good things that touched our lives while knowing him.

I just found out that he died Wednesday night (May 19th.) He was my boyfriend in 1983-1985(?) (I think those are the right years...it was so long ago.) I did first meet him in 1979 and also saw him for awhile in 1980 (sorry, but we may have crossed-over each other...:()
I had very little communication with him since the end of our relationship but saw him once in 2000. Last year I felt compelled to call him and was shocked and saddened to hear him tell me he had been battling cancer for the last few years. We spoke a few more times and he sounded stronger and kept assuring me that he was getting better. I didn't hear from him for a few months and didn't call and then I found out he had passed away on facebook; a very impersonal way to find out someone you had loved a lot had died.
I hope he's with the Lord and has finally found peace, too.
