I have heard that my grandfather Lt. Col. Peter Thomas Conachy was instrumental in this battle yet I have not found him mentioned anywhere. Any information anyone has on him would be greatly appreciated. He passed away before I was born, and my mother also passed away while I was young..So I have missed out on all the stories about him and his many medals as a US Marine... It is also my understanding that he was assigned to overlook a base in Haiti in the 30's... I would just love knowing more about him!
