I have an item that was given to me about 30 years ago. This item looks like the handle of a sword. It has a knights templer cross within a crown. on the front and an suit of armer in a sqare on the back. It is about 8 inches long one to 1.5 wide and vary ornate. incribed around the cross is " in hoc signo vinces ". It is heavy and a combination of iron and/or copper. Not sure. This item was found in an old gold mine camp in California along with an old pistol by my brtother in law while searching with a metal detector. I would very much like to find out more about this item.
