Since I don't know for sure which kind of shotgun this is, I would think that it uses a standard shotgun cartrige, -- UNLESS it was built before aobut 1925.. Before that most guns were "black powder" shotguns,-"std. cartrige" most likely will fit in these too, but don't use them.. "Modern Smokeless, - non-corrosivce" powder has a lot more power to it, and you would need to find loading specs, and put less powder in the "old ones"! I have a double barrel A.J. Aubry shotgun from around 1909, and somebody most likely lost a couple fingers, when the side of barrel blew out just above the end of front handguard... Most later weapons have date of manufacture stamped somewhere on barrel! If in doubt find somebody in phone book that is a gunsmith, and ask him,-- he should have a book with manufacturing dates for this model (whatever the brand is),-and will most likely tell you if it is a black-powder or modern cartrige to use! If it has a date before 1895, it is most likely a "non gun" by BATF standards.-- it would of course be black powder, and you might have to load your own! If this really - really old,- take it to a gunsmith, and make sure it is still safe to use..... A gun blowing up in your face can ruin your day!
