I have a few videos made in the early 1970's showing Phantoms being launched off of carriers. It shows the 3 point bridle being hooked up to the aircraft and to the launcher and then the aircraft is lauched. When the catapault hook is returned there is no bridle attached to it. What happened to the bridle? Is there a new one used for each launch? Is the ocean floor covered with bridles?
