I have a 2005 Ford freestyle 4.2L van. I have just had to replace the transmission at a cost of $3300 . After checking the internet I find hundreds of complaints with the same problem, where you can be driving down the road anywhere from 30-60 miles( 50-100 KM) an hour and you all of a sudden have nothing( THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE, NO WARNING, NO NOISE, NO SLIPPAGE) How can I protect against this happening again. Why is there no recal, When I know you are aware of this problem. I love my van but I am now afraid to go very far from home because I may be stranded or in an accident anywhere.
