I have a 1908 Brazilian contract Mauser that has been sporterized. Somewhere along in its life the action was separated from the original trigger guard and floor plate. The gun is not chambered for 30-06, and I would like to know if I replace the missing trigger guard/floor plate with a military one (8 X 57) will the 30-06 cartridges fit in the floor plate housing.
