I cannot read greek, but I have been comparing the Greek Text against the English Translation.

Often times I will run into a situation where words are substituted, for example:

In Romans 8:28, in the Greek Text (TR) the word οιδαμεν (Strongs G1492) is translated "know". However when you lookup G1492, the word being translated is εἴδω.

This is not an occasional thing, it happens all the time and my curiosity as to what this is all about is driving me crazy. Can someone please explain this?

I am a little late in finding this string but I have a desire to be more prolific in Greek and Hebrew. I read and write them both phonetically and understand some of the structure. That part is easy. developing a vocabulary and understanding syntax is the challenge.
I would be thrilled to have your help.
