I can not get my truck into gear when it is running, but when you turn it off you can put it into any gear. what is the problem ?

Either you have a bad clutch or your synchros are bad and need to be changed it sounds more like your clutch, id have that replaced first as it would be less expensive, to have your synchros replaced you would need to take it to a shop to be rebuilt.
