I am very new to CD and I have a question:

If a small protein transiently exists in a distribution of energetically similar helical states, but those helical states are conformationally distinct (possessing helices in different regions of the protein and kinks in different regions of the protein) then will one still observe the helical spectrum?

Also, if the situation looks like this at equilibrium(where RC=random coil and H=helix):

Conformation 1: RC-RC-RC-RC-RC-RC-RC...
Conformation 2: H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H...

Then will the spectrum be half RC and half helix?
