I am trying to find out about the Sunol indians of the Sunol region. Their ways of practicing indian shamanism; spirituality and history of their practitioners. Finding out about the history of the ohlone people of Sunol is hard to come by. Anyone have any advice on leading in the right direction or advice? I would so appreciate it.

I have and this is the problem. Americans wrote the history & have left out the truths of what really has happened and how the indians of the area, really lived. They can only speculate a little because of the excavation sites around the bay area. Like for instance the Standford College was built upon indian native lands and quite a few or I should say more than a few artifacts are now stashed within their basement; yada, yada. The facts are that they can only write a history of a people based upon their finds. Which by the way is, ok, then you have the Missions of California only writing about how they established the Missions of California and there are just tiny bits and pieces of the Muwekma or Ohlone Indians of Sunol.

The information that I have come across leads me to know that they where killed and the land was taken from them and their knowledge of their way of life is really obscure and seriously hard to find. Except for written information based upon artifact finds.

The Shamanism part of their way of life is only written based upon other tribes throughout the Nation of America, because it is the other tribes that have been able to share their way of spiritualism and way of life at a greater level than, the Obscurity of the Sunol "Wuekma Indians". They where a very small tribe in the area living in prime ranching area, which the Spanards and all alike had business interest for the surrounding areas.

However, I can only keep digging and prospecting the Indian way of life within the area; and more than likely will come up with more information.

Thanks for your tiny little; reply; that leads me back to my endeavors to persevere!!!!! :)
