I am to have a bone scan for possible cancer using a radioactive dye. I understand the dye will contain Phosphonates. Is that the same as containing Bisphosphonates?

I ask because Bisphosphonates can have a side affect, namely Dead Jaw Syndrome.

I have already declined this drug because of this and am concerned about being injected with it for a scan.

Can anyone help? Thanks.
