I am thinking of buying an M1 it has AAS stamped on the stock. a P stamped on the pistol grip. It is an Inland GM. Serial number under the back site is 8371. 8-42 stamped on the barrel behind the forward site. It also has a bayonet lug on the barrel. Please let me know if any one knows anthing about what these numbers might mean, or a book or site that might help me. Yes I have some ideas, but I would like to hear from someone that knows.
