Smelting

I am smelting gold/silver from a small milling operation in a (220 lb red brass sized)crucible in an electric (store-bought) furnace. I have been using a reducing flux (borax, silica, soda ash, flour and scraps of iron) because of the presence of lead. The lead drops out with the gold and silver and I then cupel the button on large bone ash cupels and end up with a 99% gold/silver dore. Lately there have been a lot of other sulphides in the concentrate that I am smelting resulting in a large quantity of matte.

I am trying to add more iron and flour, so far without success.

Need advice!
