I am one of three sons looking for any information on my late fathers infantry unit, the 29th. He kept a book/tablet on incidents during the war and I do recall discussing the contents with him. One picture I specifically remember was a scene of the invasion of the town of St. Lo. He, or someone, had a camera and took a picture of a sign stuck into the top of an automobile that stated, "29th WAS HERE". He was in the photo with a friend. He was wounded with three gunshot wounds somewhere in Germany and stayed in a hospital for just about 11 months. He was part of the invasion of Normandy, D-Day, and had pictures of that in his book.
If you can, any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
