I am new to this forum. I am researching a little smelt by the name of eulachon or pacific smelt (also oolichan and variants of this spelling) Historical accounts talk about this fish being in the Russian River in the past. Did the Fort inhabitants or the native people (Kashaya) utilize this fish? Dry them? Trade item? In short, anything about this fish is of interest to me. Thanks.
