I am intrigued by the marbles in the NAOS of the church, that rising from the floor cover and presumably portect the interior walls of the main nave. When were they put in? During its restoration (afte 1946)? during the transformation of the church into a mosque? or are they original (meaning 14th century AD)? Can anybody answer these questions? Thank you.
