Hi,

First a DSB-SC tramsmitting signal is generated by multiplying (analogue multiplication) the carrier signal and the modulating one.
Second a DSB-SC detector at the receiving terminal will recover the modulating signal.
But since implementing the known DSB-SC detector (Costas Loop) is not as easy as to build an AM detector for conventional AM signals and even for SSB ones, DSB-SC transmissions are not widespread.

In fact I joined this forum thinking that "my simple Loop", I built in 1979 for this purpose, is at last known under any other name since it is very simple in comparison to the old "Costas Loop" (1950)
