I am 69 yrs old and own a residence in Calif. I am unable to make mortgage payment. For the lender to take back the property must they guarantee me $175,000 ? I owe $240,000 and the property value if it makes any difference is $160,000 - $170,000? I would appreciate a definitve answer from someone.
