I HAVE SOME SILVER CERTIFICATES 1928A ONE DOLLAR SERIES WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER BEGINNING WITH THE LETTER "D". MELLON'S NAME IS ON THE RIGHT AND HF (LOOKS LIKE TATE) CAN'T REALLY MAKE IT OUT IS ON THE LEFT. CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME INFORMATION ON THESE CERTIFICATES?

Ok I am a collector of many silver certificates and I can tell you that the names you see are infact Woods and Mellon.
This 1928A silver certificate was the first of the small sized note made. The "A" after the series date meens the change of Treasurer of The United States and The Secretary of Treaury.If at any time one of these names change they put a new letter after the date. Depending on the quality of your notes from "FINE to CHOICE GEM UNCERCULATED" the value of them could be from $35.00 to $175. I hope I have anwsered your questions.
