In the final days of 2005 Hyo Jin Moon lost his eldest son Shin Gil to a car accident in Boston. Shin Gil was days from turning 18, and with majority was moving back to be with his dad, Hyo Jin.

Starting January 1, Hyo Jin began a series of brief Sunday talks "on the education he could never give his son." He spoke until May 9, 2008, and ascended a week later.
