If the question is about its engine than you will forgive me if I say it "passed gas" in a rapid, buzzing, sequence.
In the head of the engine there were two sets of "leaf" valves - one that was open to allow the air to enter the burn chamber, and another set that opens when the pressure from the burning kerosene increased rapidly (that closes the air entry valves, of course.)
The hot gases from the burn chamber exit with the high velocity creating recoil pressure (the rocket effect) that moved the entire contraption in the opposite direction of the exiting gases: Prrr, prrr, prr, prr it goes.
