When John Brown was late at definding Lawrence and the town was looted, the hotel destroyed and the printing press was thrown in the river. I think this may have drove John to acts that most call murder. It was revenge and i think pluse frustration and or guilt. He took part of the hacking to death of proslavery men. But i think it wise to know that the men he killed also were planing to kill him and his family. After reading so much about this man i can feel him building to this point. The Sacking of Lawrence was just a good reason to do something big bold. I am not all that sure he did not have a part in the killing yet its said he just did not stop it. Be real he encuraged it yet i still think all and all he was right a bold move against bad men was needed.
