I hope speed answer

Do you have an answer yet? first, what is the burner designed to do? Is it in a firebox or is it an open flame? second, what kind of burner is it? Diffusion or Premix? third, what condition are you trying to correct? flame smoky and yellow or flame thin whipped and lifting off at the base? forth, how is flame drafted? natural draft, induced draft, or forced draft? Finally, have you checked to see if the gas tip is clean? is the air supply unimpeded?

all the questions i have asked are important to know when "adjusting a burner" for any reason.
