Hi my son has CGD also. He is 14yrs old and has been taking the interferon since he was 15 months old. He had all the side effect that are possible, but he has since grown out of them. He has his dosage changed when he gains weight and sometimes he gets achy and feverish for the first few doses. The side effects are, fever, flu symptoms, vomiting, chills, shakes, sweats.I don't want to tell you what to do but I think that if he hadn't taken this shot then he might not be with me today. I think no matter what the cost you should try to take it. It won't be fun at first but you might adapt. I hope this helps.
