Hi everyone, I am appealing to anyone who worked or knows anyone who worked at GEC Witton between 1930's to 1960's. I am trying to find out any information on my Grandad Leslie Hawtin who worked there during that time. I have very little info on what he did but my dad has told me that he worked on one of only two machines that were in the country at the time and that whenever he was asked about what he did during the war he always said "I make nuts and bolts" This makes me think that his job was specialised and kept him from being drafted during WW2. I would dearly love to know more can anyone help me please.
