I have a aqueobic system a maxi plant rated at 10600 liters per day I also have a large spot of moss growing over one tile area Is this a symptom of a problem We are on granite with a lot of imported sand. You input would be helpful Thank You Rob

Sounds like the lateral lines are backing up,You should also check the primary septic tank for excess sludge in the bottom,If the lateral(drainage pipes)lines have root invasion that could slow down, or prohibit the septic system from doing its job,...Dig down to the sand layer and check the saturation of the lateral lines, (in a spot near the end of the pipe). If it is too wet,and the sand layer is not taking the sewage water, you may have to replace the sand layer with 4-6 inches of pea gravel.and then put a sand layer on top of that.Replacing the old lateral lines with new black poly lateral line will improve flow....the septic tank should be drained of all sludge, and fresh bacteria set into the tank.RID-X works well in high volume septic systems.

Hi thank you for your reply I do not believe that the lines are backing up since it is a batching system. The total field is flooded at one time. These black bubbles have been around almost since the system was installed 22 years ago What is this algae mossy material. It is mostly around the aeration tanks
