Hi ,I have a 94 Lumina APV Recently the gearbox started shifting erratically.On a normal pull off it holds first normally then changes through the rest of the gears and into O/D within a few metres and find yourself at 20 MPH in overdrive.Also coming to a stop it stays in O/D until the vehicle is almost at a stop.The valvebody seemed to be in good condition and most seem to think that it is an electrical problem but no one can be sure.
I only want to drop the box as a last resort.
Local shops seem to have various types of scan tools ,Bosch being the most popular.In my Hains Manual they talk of a Tech 1 and Tech 2 scantools are these the only ones to be able to acess the diagnostics.
CAN ANY ONE PLEASE HELP ?
